Which version of Android? Don't forget that Android is most likely more 
fractured than Moblin or Maemo.

They have to keep the source code available according to the GPL, so the code 
won't be going anywhere. The only risk you will run is if you stand still, the 
world will change and develop without you. 

I wouldn't worry to much about this - MeeGo is still Linux, you will still be 
able to do pretty much whatever you want.
