So i dont think that ur ideas are by no means wrong just missplaced. I am not advocating for Obama or what to do or not.

Having news like this being picked up by mainstream is in itself a strategy to gain visibility. Sure there is also concern on the risk of being stigmatized. However I heard that there is not such thing like "bad publcity". I am sure in a weird way, PC guy from the Mac Ads pushed some Windows sales.

Alexandro,

Ah, you're right.. misplaced.

I was going along the lines of approaching Obama's ICT guy about using OpenOffice.org, (and using "Obama said he likes it" as a means by which to approach them).

In terms of general marketing and raising brand awareness, it's a fantastic one. Even a play on words with Obama's "Change" mantra, could provide a pretty easy-to-cut Viral Video... building on the premise that Obama likes OOo. Cut from an Obama Speech on Change, to a OOo logo. Plenty of ideas to be generated from this one. Do we have any do-ers that could do this?

Andy
