Dear Marketeting Department Reps.

I really like your product, but there is little awareness of your product in
the consumer market. I particularly like the way you offer the ability to
create pdf files and have recommended your product for this, but rarely come
across anyone who has heard of OO. I don't know exactly what strategy Sun
Microsystems might use, but I would try Internet advertising in areas where
there
is much interest along with underutilized exposure by other products.

For example, I work in the genealogy market. Most companies do not realize
the importance or magnitude of this area, but it is by some counts the largest
area of interest of any consumer interest. If your product would include
items to help with genealogical publishing and research, you would gain more
exposure. For example, Family Tree Maker, the most widely genealogical program
allows people to publish books generated from their data. However, there is
much to be desired in the way of formatting. If your product would add the
ability to read gedcoms & format books from this, it would be a

Also, there is one particular frustration I have. I would like to see more
file management tools. WordPerfect, from early on, always had a way to print a
file list of documents in a particular directory. Word doesn't do that, so
please ADD this feature. Being able to print the files names in a particular
directory, would generate interest, particularly if you added other options for
sorting and organizing that do not rely on the operating system.

For example, wouldn't it be great to have OO generate PDFs of all files or
selected files in a directory, without having to manually do this, or to
generate thumbnails of all graphics in a directory.

I have an MBA in marketing and am also an IT consultant who works with the
State of Florida, Department of Education developing curriculum frameworks and
reviewing textbooks. If you would like to pursue any kind of consulting
arrangement in the genealogical or educational market, please let me know.
