I'll give a specific example in answer to Charles' question.

I may have missed it in the flood of emails lately, but I do not recall seeing any public thanks or recognition (on this list or the events list) of the work I and others did on the OOoRegiCon, except from the other people who attended and worked at the booth.

We got no help before the event, despite requests from me and from others, about artwork or display materials or anything else needed for the booth. We were all making it up as we went along, and as you can see from earlier threads (about banners and business cards, for example), we weren't happy about the situation. And not a word of thanks for what we did accomplish! (If I missed it, my apologies.) Do you wonder that people go away and do something else?

Now I don't need anyone to tell me I do a good job. I know that. What I'd like to see is that someone (who wasn't there) recognises and appreciates that I -- and everyone else who was there -- am doing a good job.

Regards, Jean

Hello Daniel,
thanks for your input. I'll ask the next question then:
How does it manifest itself?

Charles.
