Updated patch:
* reads system property during {{NodeConfig}} init
* provides {{NodeConfig.getSolrDataHome()}}
* modifies {{DirectoryFactory}} and {{CachingDirectoryFactory}} to use this
method
Tests are passing - if there are no objections I'd like to commit this shortly.
