A fair point Yonik ;-) We need to come together on this quickly as I hear often
how unintuitive the Solr directory layout is compared to other open source
search engines based on Lucene.
What about leaving example untouched and introducing a new server directory?
That would make backporting easier and satisfy the bulk of the concerns of new
users looking at Solr's directory structure.
