Hi Young,

in order to minimize maintenance of the test cases we need either to agree to use one TCM only or to link the OpenOffice.org *upgraded* TCM to the OpenSolaris TCM so that the test cases implemented in the OpenOffice.org TCM get reflected in the OS TCM....

I've talked to Karl as well and he will support us during either the upgrade or the migration.... (thanks!)

Karl, from your perspective, can you may be tell us what you think is best?
I would suggest to migrate OOo to OpenSolaris. In this case, test cases can be shared. Under new TCM, you can have your own build sequence for OOo test cycle, each build only contains OOo testing.

Thanks,
Karl.

To the Community members: can you please let me and Karl know who would like to have MGR access to better evaluate the new TCM features?

Kind Regards,
Rafaella

Hello Rafaella,

Desktop G11n QA team copied over OO.o test cases to OS.o TCM site
several months ago for our integration testing. Therefore, the
updated test cases on OO.o TCM since this initial import are not
reflected on OS.o site. We'll continue to put more desktop-related test
cases in www.sunvirtuallab.com/opensource.

If community decides to migrate completely to OS.o TCM, we can help with
the process. I mean, Karl can (I just talked to him). ;-)

My suggestion is though, that community first determines all the
features that are existing and non-existent in current OO.o TCM that are
important to the community, and discuss this list with Karl as he knows
the new TCM dB schema best. He can tell what the new (OS.o) TCM can or
can not do, and accommodate the community needs in the migration process
once a decision is made to migrate.

Another idea is, if a few OO.o TCM MGR persons are interested, we can
probably grant MGR access to those people for evaluation.

kind regards,
Young

Hi Robert,

thank you for your feedback!

First impressions:

Looks really a lot clearer than the other OpenOffice.org Localization Testing site.

Why do we have only 143 items in this test suite where we use a 155 in the original OOo TCM site? Questioned to early... The Base items are not included.
Right, this is the reason and also this is why I would tend to suggest to have use this TCM for the listed Open Source projects including OpenOffice.org. Maintenance would be easier. As it is now, once we add or change test cases in the current TCM OOo tool we need to transfer the changes to the TCM for OpenSolaris....

Maintenance is much the same as original OpenOffice.org Localization Testing suite. If we move to this one will yoo provide a smtooth transfer including all users and passwords?
Yes, I'll try to keep the transfer as smooth as possible...

Let's see what the others think.
