Hi Claudio,
The meeting referred in your email occurred on October 1, 2004. In the meeting, we discussed how to proceed with merging the different translations between SO7 and OO.o 1.1 in collaborative environment during the translation phase of SO8/OO.o2.0. Furthermore, that Gusta (Sun G11n language lead) and members of the community would discuss the 1000 strings (word counts unknown) that community had already identified to be revised/merged. Both Gusta and I sent you many emails to follow up since then and were given no access to such strings. We (G11n and Community) worked together on OO.o 2.0/SO 8 translations to complete them by end of March. It's now mid May, and it's questionable if SO Release Engineering team will accept any translation changes at this time, not to mention an opportunity for Gusta to see the changes that have been made.
I'm all for increasing the quality of the product as much as it's in my control and am not against your linguistic approach as long as it serves Brazil market. Having said that, I'm troubled as to how to proceed with suggested changes. Looks like we just need to make a decision here...

We're done with translations for SO8/OO.o2.0. So it really
depends on the bugs at this point.
I saw the bugs, but in revision we verify the translation and when have some string untranslated, we translate.
Other thing that can be util is to explain our agreement about the translation to people of l10n, and find a way to merge our work in the source too.
