Thanks for resurrecting this KIP. It seems like a useful idea to me and
I’d be interested in seeing the proposed public interfaces.

I note that you specifically called out the 
ProducerInterceptor.onAcknowledgement
method, as opposed to the producer Callback.onCompletion method.
