Hey Y'all

I know there has been a lot of confusion over who is allowed to host a
meetup and what it can be called. Technically, I believe the PMC is
supposed
to be involved in anything involving the Apache Iceberg trademark but I'd
like
to pre-approve a bunch of meetups if we have consensus.

Basically I would like to get the PMC out of the meetup approval business as
I think this is an unnecessarily high threshold for new meetups and may be
biasing meetups towards locations where folks have connections to the PMC.
If
we do notice that a meetup group has issues we can always deal with it at
that
time.

Proposal:
The Apache Iceberg community allows any meetups to use Apache Iceberg in
their
meetup name in the format *Apache Iceberg Meetup ***Some Geographic
Location****. No
other approval is required and PMC involvement is not required, but
assistance will be
gladly offered if asked.

Please let me know what you think,
Russ
