Thanks for clarifying Ashutosh. Looks like we'll be forking Hive for a while while we stick with CDH3. I might see if the Cloudera guys are interested in assisting in maintaining a CDH3 HBase compatible Hive 0.9 version - there are too many nice things in 0.9 for us not to use it, but we're kind of committed to CDH3.
