Yes, it should definitely be in the release notes. If folks are okay
with the legacy_default.properties file Jianxia can create that.

If we change defaults we need to document that, of course, and not just in
our 1000+ page manual because that will not be read soon enough to avoid
problems from the changed defaults. We definitely need that to appear in
the release notes.
I think we should create a "legacy_default.properties" file that contains
the old default settings for any defaults we are going to change and make
that available to legacy users so that they KNOW what the defaults WERE,
and can use some or all of that file to augment their current
gemfire.properties file to put the defaults back the way they have been
running up until now.

network-partition-detection by default. It is a major problem for someone
if a partition occurs and they are using persistence. The disk-stores on
