As Stephan mentioned above, Table API refactoring work is blocked on a release. The expects changes of deprecated(in 1.8) APIs (Such as: ExternalCatalogTable#builder(), new Table(..) ) in the TableAPI refactoring work has been merged into the Master. So from the points of my view, I hope cutting of the 1.8 release branch ASAP. :-) Of course, I agree that we shouldn’t rush things.
