It turned out that my original assumption that I don't got the latest build was wrong! The fix that I wanted to test was already there, but it considered the mobile environment only. Cause I'm testing for the desktop it felt for me like the fix was not there. The fix was revised by Om in the meantime and now this issue is solved!
I've downloaded the latest "4.14.0 RC" build today with no problems. So currently there's no issue with the installer for me.
