It can link in different component sets and different "beads". In theory, if folks need support for older browsers they can choose a component set that is compatible and trade-off other features or build out polyfills to fake them. So far we haven't had to do too much to support IE8, but if we don't have to spend more time on IE8 that would be great. The argument has always been that the big enterprises that are most likely to fund Flex work going forward are also usually a bit behind on versions. I'll ask when I'm at the conferences to verify that folks are upgrading soon. Maybe we should run a poll on our lists. -Alex
