Should we provide a link to subscribe to the mailing lists from the installer?  
Such as if they pick the dev branch or nightly's ?

Why not just not log them in the installers log?

We've had 20,000+ installs of the SDK via the installer - we don't have 
anywhere near that many people on the mailing lists. I think a little caution 
is prudent here. the installer is the first thing a user will use when trying 
to installer the SDK.
