completely agree with Alex's comment to have BlazeDS transferred to Apache. Adobe has not done any new development on that, and it has a horrible bug on day light saving time handling for year 2006 and earlier (when Bush Administration increased the day light saving weeks effective 2007).
also, one feature request, can we have multi-threaded support for datagrid rendering? When there are a lot of complex cell data in datagrid component, the rendering is very slow. If we can have multi-threaded support (Flash Player 11.4 and later already have built-in multi-threaded worker), it will significantly improve the datagrid performance, and makes the datagrid better fit for many new applications.
