We updated the CDN cache policy to improve Website speed. The cache time of HTML, images, and videos are set to be one hour. Other resources like CSS and JS are set to be 30 days because there are requested with version numbers in HTML so that once it's changed, we can use the version number to force updating.
We asked four volunteers in China to test the loading speed without local cache. One of the four volunteers has absolutely no access to the Apache Website, both echarts.apache.org and doris.apache.org. Other three volunteers can access with almost acceptable speed. I think this is a great step towards transferation. The next thing we are going to do is to ask more people to test the speed in China. If the rate of access is acceptable, we should transfer the Website ASAP. Another thing to update is that, we have transferred echarts.baidu.com to echartsjs.com. We hope this could at least let the users know ECharts is not a product relating to Baidu before we transfer it to the Apache domain. And the banner linking to echarts.apache.org as talked about in a previous thread has been online. Wenli
