"A lone traveler goes fast, but a group travels far." This ancient saying not
only expresses a piece of life wisdom but also reveals the core power of
open-source communities.
Looking back, Apache Doris started its open-source journey in 2017. Thanks to
the collective efforts of countless users and contributors, it successfully
graduated from the Apache Incubator in 2022 and has since become one of the
most vibrant open-source projects in the domestic and global database and big
data fields. This journey is a testament to the selfless dedication and shared
growth of every community partner, proving the limitless potential and powerful
strength of open-source collaboration!
To better reward and encourage every partner in the Doris community, we are
launching the Doris Community Hero Recruitment Program, hoping to provide a
dedicated stage for everyone to showcase their talents, share their
experiences, and grow together.
II. Basic Benefits
By joining the Doris Community Hero program, you will immediately unlock a
series of exclusive benefits, helping you advance your technical skills, expand
your personal influence, and grow with more like-minded community partners and
tech experts:
Exclusive Communication Group.: For Heroes to exchange ideas; regular
discussions on Doris x AI topics will also be held in the group.
Personal Brand Building: Official traffic support to help Heroes build their
personal technical brand and enhance their personal influence.
Closed-Door Talks: Organizing offline get-togethers for Heroes to network,
build deep connections, and find like-minded "technical partners."
Official Certification: Actively participating in community contributions
(details in Section VI) to receive an "Apache Doris Community Hero" honorary
certificate.
Dry-Goods Sharing: Regularly organizing vertical-field dry-goods sharing
sessions within the group...
III. Monthly Interviews
To better showcase the wonderful stories of every Hero in the Doris community,
we will feature 1 to 2 Doris Community Heroes in a monthly interview. Through
these interviews, we will delve into each Hero's deep connection with Doris and
listen to their unique experiences of meeting, knowing, and accompanying Doris.
The interview content will cover multiple dimensions, including but not limited
to the following:
Technical Journey: Sharing the exploration journey and key milestones on the
Doris technical path.
Practical Experience: In-depth analysis of valuable experience using Doris in
real-world projects.
Community Contribution: Showcasing the selfless contributions of Heroes in the
open-source community.
Growth Insights: Discussing reflections on a career in technology and life
philosophies.
Future Outlook: Sharing expectations and suggestions for the development of the
Doris ecosystem.
Through these in-depth interviews, we hope to let more partners perceive the
shining moments on their technical growth path and discover the little-known
"details" of how a novice becomes a "tech guru" in the eyes of others. We
invite you to stay curious, keep learning, and look forward to the interview
series.
IV. Quarterly Incentives
In addition to enjoying the basic benefits and monthly interviews, we have also
established a special quarterly incentive ranking mechanism to honor Doris
Community Heroes who have demonstrated outstanding performance in driving the
development of the Doris community, technical innovation, and content
contributions.
Based on the quarterly Hero value ranking, the top 10 Doris Community Heroes
will receive the following rewards (refreshed quarterly):
Top 1: 2000 RMB gift card + quarterly Top 1 honorary badge
Top 2: 1000 RMB gift card + quarterly Top 2 honorary badge
Top 3: 500 RMB gift card + quarterly Top 3 honorary badge
Top 4-10: 200 RMB gift card + quarterly Top 4-10 honorary badge
V. Annual Recognition
Furthermore, the contributions of Doris Community Heroes will be accumulated in
the form of Hero value. At the end of each year, we will conduct a final
ranking based on the total Hero value to select the most outstanding Heroes of
the year.
Heroes with high rankings will be awarded the "Annual Doris Community MVP Hero"
title and will be specially recognized at the official Doris conference. They
will also have the opportunity to share their experiences and insights with
Doris PMC and other core community members through online interactive sessions,
further enhancing their personal influence and inspiring and motivating the
wider Doris community partners.
VI. How to Join
Finally, everyone is welcome to contribute to the Doris community and become a
Doris Community Hero through any of the following methods.
Whether it's evangelistic speeches, articles, videos, or community
contributions, every effort you make will inject power into the development of
the Doris ecosystem. After completing your contribution, you only need to scan
the QR code to submit the relevant form. Once approved, the Doris assistant
will send a formal invitation via private message.
⚠️For code contributions: Incentives such as Active Contributor and Committer
titles will be selected based on the level of code contribution to the Apache
Doris GitHub repository. A separate post will be published later to introduce
this.
Contribution methods are as follows:
Evangelistic Speeches: Sharing Doris-related technical topics and practical
experiences in the form of online webinars or offline meetups (10 Hero value).
Evangelistic Articles: Original sharing of Doris-related problem guides,
feature details, and practical summaries through personal public accounts, blog
platforms, or submissions (6-10 Hero value).
Evangelistic Videos: Original sharing of Doris-related problem guides, feature
details, and practical summaries through personal video accounts, Bilibili
platforms, or submissions (6-10 Hero value).
Community Contributions: Participating in community activities and content
operations, such as organizing or assisting with offline meetups, or helping to
convert video shares into high-quality article content to ensure the smooth
progress of community activities (6-10 Hero value).
