At the last members meeting, the membership decided to recommend to the board 
that we change the Bylaws to remove gender-specific terms in favor of 
gender-neutral terms. This [1] is a draft of the resolution.

Please take a look and see how well it serves the purpose. I expect that some 
version of this will be voted at the September 16 board meeting.

[1] WHEREAS, the Board of Directors deems it to be in the best interests of the 
Foundation and consistent with the Foundation's purpose to be a welcoming 
environment for all users and contributors regardless of their sex, gender 
expression, or gender identity; and 

WHEREAS, the Bylaws include gender-specific terminology might not be consistent 
with this goal; be it therefore

RESOLVED, that the Bylaws be and hereby are modified to change all instances of 
gender-specific terminology to gender-neutral terminology; specifically 
changing "Chairman" to "Board Chair", "Vice Chairman" to "Vice Chair", 
"chairman" to "chair", "his or her" to "their", "him/her" to "their", "his, 
her, or their" to "their", "he or she" to "they", and "his, her, or its" to 
"their".
