HI,

Interesting one person’s story about access to education and outcomes:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-12-22/atar-measure-privilege-not-academic-merit/11817974

This is Australian based so may use some educational terms you're not familiar
with:
HSC = Higher School Certificate (Year 12 high school marks)
ATAR == University entrance score
VET = Vocational Education and Training
TAFE = Technical and Further Education (An alternative to university that
teaches trades and the courses are more integrated with the workforce.)

Also a lot of TAFE courses are free or subsidised by the government and can use
used as an entry into university. What stuck me is I generally see education as
easily accessible here, even for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Thanks,
Justin
