We are now at CouchDB 2.0 with clustered nodes, and the comments @davisp
and @rnewson made apply. I am closing this PR for now.
If you'd still like to see this functionality, I strongly recommend you
open a JIRA Ticket and see if we can get consensus on an approach before
opening a new PR. I think the plugin approach would make a lot of sense here.
Also, for new functionality, we'd especially like to see a test case included
that validates it.
