According to the definition here[1]: "ALC comprises local groups of Apache (Open Source) enthusiasts, called an 'ALC Chapter'. There will be a single ALC chapter per town/city. ALC is similar to Google Developer Group, Facebook Developer Circles, Mozilla Reps.” > Do any exist in the US? EU? Elsewhere? The existing ALCs are listed here[2] > What do they do? My experiences with ALC chapter are mainly from attending offline events like meetups and local conferences organized by ALC Beijing. I think it’s mainly about creating a space(online and offline, especially offline) for local open source contributors to meet in person, also as a way to promote The Apache Way. 1. https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/COMDEV/Apache+Local+Community+-+ALC 2. https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/COMDEV/ALC+Chapters Regards, Jun Liu > On Dec 4, 2023, at 8:08 PM, Michael Sokolov <msoko...@gmail.com> wrote: > > Hi I'm curious about the whole idea of local ASF chapters.
