I think you are absolutely free to do such courses. Apache Software
Foundation is volunteer driven and fully distributed organisation, and I
think one of the sides of it that it does not scale to individually answer
questions for people like yourself - mostly because it does not scale,
because most of the people here are not paid for their contributions and
clearly even if you do not charge for your courses, this is a a
business you run, so it's a bit on you to make the effort to learn.

But this is not a problem and this part is already covered: EVERYTHING
about the ASF is described here https://apache.org/ -> this site has a
wealth of information and you can learn about all the programs, ways of
communication, Apache Way (i.e. what are the values and motivations behind
Apache). I've learned a ton from just reading through the docs - and you
are absolutely welcome and free to do it and see how you can engage.
Generally speaking Apache works on Merit base, and you usually put in some
effort and actually "do" good things and contribute to actually show that
your contributions are valuable rather than talk about them, and learning
how and what you could do is part of the self-reading IMHO. And sharing
such ready courses, and investment you've made into contributing is one of
the best way to show how useful it can be,

But that's not all - we have an apachecon.com in October in New Orleans -
just a month away - and if you register and be present at the conference -
this is absolutely the best way you can get the "all about Apache"
crash-course in 4 days (and you can contribute to the Foundation
financially by buying the ticket). And there - you can meet and talk to
many ASF old-timers and get answers to even bigger numbers of questions you
might have after reading the docs.

I think this is the best course of action for you to take.
