I initially sent this suggestion to both infrastructure and comdev. humbedooh responded on the infra list with some insights (basically, it has some shortcomings which make it unsuitable for ASF), and he gave me the link to the https://pony-poc.apache.org site, which I thought was great and essentially equivalent to the HyperKitty suggestion, but which I hadn't known about before.
