OK, so we have no objections and offers of help from the community in
Europe (thank you).

However, I am not going to include the budget in the first instance. The
reason is that other areas need a significant budget increase this year and
I need to keep the budget levels low elsewhere.

Instead what I am going to do is take it upon myself (with the help of
anyone interested) to recruit a new Silver or higher sponsor indicating
that their sponsorship $ will make the event in a box happen in both EU and
US. This wouldn't be directed funding but would be the difference that the
new sponsor will be able to make by signing up. That is, we can demonstrate
demand, provide a budget and provide measurable results that would not be
present unless they sign up.
