Regarding community health: please don't take this the wrong way, but it feels like Gary is doing A LOT of the heavy lifting on all of the commons projects. What happens if Gary is hit by a bus? Would the commons community still be able to function? The XZ Utils backdoor incident was a consequence of the main maintainer burning out, hopefully a healthy community can help prevent such issues here.
Is there anything the community can do to pitch in a bit more? Aside from the obvious things like contributing bugfixes and tests etc.
