Is the release process unnecessarily cumbersome for the RM? If so, perhaps
some time spent automating more of the procedure would be worthwhile.

Maybe we could consider some guidelines for when a release is needed. E.g.
After X fixes or Y new features then a release ought to happen unless there
is a strong reason not to.
