I think a logo contest would be a great idea. In the meantime, I've emailed the trademark folks at ASF to get their thoughts/approval on using the feather in the interim for my advert. Stack Overflow forces projects to refresh their ads every six months, so hopefully we'll have something in place by the time we would need to renew this one.
