I suggest you read all of that Jira. That isn't what happened at all. A
more accurate summary would be that infra (me included) got tired of
being messed about and spending a whole lot of our free time getting the
data in a fit state to be imported only to be told that we needed to
start again with a different set of data.

Importing from an old version of Jira is a non-trivial exercise and the
ASF infra team is not an infinite resource.

In this particular case the infra position is that we will gladly import
the data once the project gets it into a suitable state to do so. What
infra will not be doing, is doing that work again for the project. If
the project wants those issues imported, the project will have to do the
work this time.
