We really need to review the open issue tickets in JIRA and decide which needs to fixed for 2.0 and which can be left till later. If you want to start having a look I would suggest looking through those that are currently "unassigned" (theres a link to those on the Commons IO JIRA page) and submitting patches for any you fancy tackling.
