The changes to Lang in trunk are likely to break lots of Gump builds. Since the changes are a work in progress, and we are not trying specifically to maintain backwards API compatibility, it seems unhelpful to cause other projects Gump grief just yet, as they will miss out on detecting other changes that break the build.
I've not looked into this yet, but I think we can have two Lang builds in Gump, one for the new stuff, and another for other projects.
