I would like to call a vote whether, contingent on
proper IP provenance through the Incubator IP
clearance process, Commons agrees to accept a JAXP
implementation over JXPath into JXPath's codebase.
Despite the fact that this is one more bit of code to
maintain, the contribution represents a considerable
value in terms of ensuring expected behavior from
JXPath with XML models, an arena in which the library
has historically been somewhat lacking. The code in
question has been attached by its author, Michele
Vivoda, to JIRA issue JXPATH-112. Given the timeline,
over which comes a holiday for many, myself included,
I intend to hold this vote open for approximately one
week, through next Monday December 31.
