The file commons-logging-1.1.1/site/RELEASE-NOTES.txt extracted from: commons-logging-1.1.1.zip says: "All core classes were compiled with Maven using a 1.4.x JDK, with target set to 1.1 and source set to 1.2. " However, that does not agree with the MANIFEST.MF files, which have target 1.2 (where present).
