Did you call for feedback on dev@ as well? It's fine to send the PDF separately to specific folks who request it, since attachments would be stripped anyway - but I hope we're always asking publicly as well. In this case, I think you might be making more work for yourself by reverting and creating a patch, because other things may change and you'd have to re-do the patch if you get out of sync. If you have a Jira issue that relates to it, maybe leave that open until it's reviewed instead? Just a thought, but I know it's been a hassle in the past having to re-do patches because they've sat for a while. But I am glad to see we're being thorough in getting reviews!
