SA1 submitted an Issue (https://github.com/apache/airflow/issues/34405) pointing out that is the connection to OTel fails for whatever reason, there is an exception thrown and the task fails, and proposing that we log/warn and carry on without emitting the metric.
This requires a little bit of discussion as there are a couple of options to proceed on this. I know I'll inevitably fork the conversation by asking here, but please reply in the convo at the link so we can try to avoid it. - ferruzzi
