Hi folks,
As you may have heard, some users on 57 are experiencing performance
problems due to third party clients that are interacting poorly with
Firefox accessibility. We have been able to reproduce only one case
(Realplayer) and need more. So here’s what we are asking. If you use
Windows can you try this:
1.
In about:config, ensure accessibility.force_disabled is 0.
2.
Restart Firefox (57, 58, or 59)
3.
Check about:support
1.
Down in the “Accessibility” section, is “Activated” true? And,
2.
Do you experience performance degradation?
3.
If so, please contact jmathies and/or davidb.
If you are aware of friends or family that have experienced bad performance
on Firefox 57 for Windows please also contact us. In particular, if they
solved their problem by disabling accessibility these are exactly the
systems from which we need to gather more info.
