We were asked to involve the dev.planning community sooner to allow for 
discussions and feedback instead of presenting a decision that was made in a 
small group, documented in bugzilla comments, and then committed+uplifted. This 
was in attempt to avoid last minute delays or changes triggered by people 
saying the community was not involved earlier.

Perhaps you are right that dev.planning is not the best forum -- I've posted 
various topics to firefox-dev for more Firefox contained issues. Do you have 
suggestions on where each of the 4 topics I posted should be discussed? Perhaps 
here in dev.platform?
