I am glad to hear that there is at least one person stepping up to support 
xulrunner if a need arises. I also have some apps written on top of xulrunner 
but my gut feeling tells me that xul is not the most future-proof technology. 
Sadly, it has never been. I hear that xulrunner has also been pulled from some 
Linux distributions.

Needless to say, if you enjoy writing with web technologies but you still want 
to build for the desktop, just use an embed HTML renderer. It is not the same 
as XUL but it is getting close and you can also provide native experience 
without fiddling to much with any framework.

Personally, this is the route I have chosen for myself.
