I should have noted using all up to date software. As stated, I have appropriate resources provisioned. Swapping to a different protocol seems to integrate less optimally (not adjusting screen size, etc) so it's less desirable.
I'll try to dig for logs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-qxl in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2095065 Title: Frequent spice agent crashes as KVM/Libvirt guest Status in xserver-xorg-video-qxl package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Having an issue in Ubuntu 24.04 (desktop) when running as a guest in KVM/Libvirt. The system starts fine and works for a time (often short, sometimes longer). However, eventually the system display halts, and after a time goes all black. Occasionally, the system might regain responsiveness, but more likely never does, and requires a restart. A soft restart is adequate, and the system responds to the queue to shutdown. The halting does not seem to be related to workload and occurs on a system running idle with adequate resources. After restarting, an error report displays saying that spice-vdagent crashed with a SIGSEV. This seems to be a recent development, but the issue has happened more occasionally in the past. However, it has become a frequent enough issue to make the experience unusable. Guest vm set up with a standard process on both Ubuntu and Fedora hosts, using default VM settings and reasonable resources allocated. Additional details below.
