Please try disabling fractional scaling in settings and then log in again. Also I expect using a Wayland session would not have this bug. You can select it on the login screen from the menu in the bottom right (it's the one called 'Ubuntu' and not 'Ubuntu on Xorg'). Is there any particular reason why X11 is being used here?

It was functional before. She just upgraded from Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04, and is having issues trying to connect an external monitor to her laptop (running Intel graphics and x11). The control panel is displaying "Changes cannot be applied", and the monitor itself is non-functional, but it does at least appear in the control panel. I had her try running gnome-control-center and it did give the error of "GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: Logical monitor scales must be identical" while doing so. We tried deleting the .config/monitors.xml file, and tried setting the scaling factor to be the same, with no luck. The version of gnome-control-center is 46.2-1ubuntu0.24.04.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2084727/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
