Maybe the bug only occurs with non-US keyboard layouts. Regardless, it appears bug 1872230 already describes the problem. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1872230 The left Ctrl key does not work with key combos when using pointer location in Xorg sessions -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1956235 Title: Pointer Location (which uses Ctrl key) conflicts with other Ctrl-based shortcuts Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: When activating Pointer Location function, I cannot use any other Ctrl-based shortcuts. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X, etc. just stop working because Pointer Location is fired up once Ctrl is pressed. I think that shortcuts should work as follows: shortcut bound commands should be activated after keys are released. (BTW, don't know whether it's OK to write here but I've never had such issues with Windows OS, because no shortcuts interrupt one another there and it's very important nowadays because shortcuts help saving one's valuable time).
