Public bug reported: sounds stops after few seconds I tried to modify the list order of the sound cards as alsamixer was showing me that the chip ATI R6xx HDMI set as 0 HD-Audio Generic seems to have no output when the chip Realtek ALC294 set as 1 HD-Audio Generic displays all controls That's why I did edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf I also tried to change with sudo nano /etc/group audio:x:29:pulse to audio:x:29:cyrille as advised there https://fluoblog.wordpress.com/2008/01/13/resolution-des-problemes-de-son-sous-ubuntu/ but it didn't seem to have made any change as grep 'audio' /etc/group returns audio:x:29:pulse
