I concur with @GTriderXC. Exactly the same behaviour! Many times I leave my phone untouched except a few calls, Telegram messages, and casual web-browsing sessions (can't avoid these, as I mentioned before this phone is my daily driver), but then 1-2 days later again the same no- SMS-sound-issue. I really hope fixes for bug #1506953 and bug #1596329 get rid of this nuisance.

Also in the indicator menu the envelope icon turns green and the new SMS is listed as usual. Things are working alright for Telegram, Gmail etc. (sound+LED+indicator menu).
