Jaunty: volume control freaks out when resuming from sleep

Bug description:
I close my laptop lid and after reopening it (bringing my computer
back from sleep), the volume control goes crazy showing itself
muting/unmuting rapidly to no end. The only way to make this problem
go away is to restart.
Yes I'm sure no keys are pressed ;)
Background: I have a Dell XPS M1330 and have been using 8.04 Hardy
until this morning.
