  Authenication window occasionally  fails to open, then affects all
  policykit instances

Status in “policykit-1” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Unfortunately this seems to happen 'out of the blue', then only a log
  out in returns to working (other than authenticating thru a terminal
  like in pkexec synaptic which will work

  Ex. errors -
  synaptic -
   Error creating textual authentication agent: Error opening current 
controlling terminal for the process (`/dev/tty'): No such device or address

  Software-center when trying to install a package -
   softwarecenter.backend - WARNING - _on_trans_error:
