There is not enough information here to begin diagnosis of what went
wrong in the modesetting sequence.
Please append drm.debug=6 to your kernel commandline and attach the
dmesg after plugging in the HDMI a few times.

Bug description:
In natty I have to resort to a VGA cable to get video in Natty. The HDMI port
does see the screen correctly in the "Monitors" app but if i switch to it I
just get a blank screen. No errors are apparent.
HDMI worked fine in Lucid and Maverick.
