** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 887952 Indicator doesn't lose unread status unless explicitly clicked -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/891639 Title: New email count in top bar and on Thunderbird Unity icon is not updated when mail status changes Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: When the entry for the new mail (there may be multiple entries per each mail folder with new email) is clicked, then Thunderbird is opened with that folder. In that moment, both the Unity Thunderbird icon overlay and the top bar entry are updated to the actual count of new emails. However, when I just use Thunderbird to read email, the icon overlay and top bar are not updated. They always reflect the number of new mails since either the start of the session, or since I last clicked the top bar menu entry.
