its is related to your gtk theme. Get "tweak tool" or something similar to modify it.

However, I can barely read anything in the window. The text is black, like normal, but the background the text is on is dark grey/gadiant black. Everything else, system wise, seems fine. Running Kopete looks normal, Firefox is fine.
