I can't see anything going wrong in those log files, but that just
supports the theory there is no hotplug event when the HDMI cable is
unplugged.
Still, I would recommend not using the HDMI port at all because it will
force the system to use slow GPU-to-GPU copies for every frame. You will
get better performance if the external monitor is wired to the
integrated GPU, which can often be achieved by using the USB-C port and
an adapter cable. My hope is that will also work around this bug for
you.
